Comic Strip

"Laika 44" by Akira
(2006-08-07)

There are couple of things to point out in this strip:

  • Probably Laika was reading "Dragon Ball" when she got that idea ^_^;
  • Laika got some of sword techniques from anime and games. She is hidden otaku.
  • I asume Ishikawa family can challenge each other for a duel or something.
  • They (Fuuka Onne-chan and Jung) were kissing ^_^;
  • Laika had a light-black hair from birth (now she's emerald green colored because I like that color), but her hair became pure-black during this period.

"Otakon 2006" by Konstantin
(2006-08-08)

Got back from Otakon last night, only to see 6 answering machine messages informing me that a water main broke and has flooded my department's offices. Spent the following 15 hours frantically trying to get the basic server infrastructure up and running again, but things seem to be more or less stable now, even managed to sneak a couple hours of sleep in there somewhere. All I can say is I sure am glad server rooms have raised floors.

In spite of all this, the con was still a success, one of the more satisfying ones in recent years. There were great guests, good panels, and a well-stocked Dealers' Room, but I what really made the con for me was the 4chan panel. I'll do a proper writeup of the con when I'm somewhat more coherent, in the meantime RANT'S CLOSED DUE TO AIDS!

P.S. since Totaku's link has expired here's the image that inspired the legendary /a/ thread: Unlimited Essay Works.
