Raised in a very sheltered and traditional environment as the heir of the Kurahashi zaibatsu (corporation), Haruna's mother rebelled upon attending Kyoto University, delving into the world of hippies. She met her husband in one of her classes, fell madly in love, and decided to become married. Facing fierce opposition from her mother, she eloped with him, gaining freedom in exchange for her firstborn daughter Haruna. After living 18 years of love and peace, she agreed to go back to the Kurahashi family when the freedom of her daughter was threatened. (by kyr)
