There are times when you don't feel like doing anything. Last week was like that. As you know I didn't do any work on "Tsunami Channel" (instead I was working on
Weekly Drawing Contest). I want to thanks Xuanwu for uploading guest comics for me. I'll start uploading from today like usual.
There won't be any comic strips for a while. I'll be doing character illustrations for one to two weeks (I changed my mind again, sorry ^^;). There are two reasons for this. My drawing style changed over years. I want to reorganize all of my character designs before I proceed farther with ExCoKo (by introducing more new characters). Also I need to organize my ideas for future ExCoKo episodes (for coming important story arcs). I still can't decide if I should go with what I originally planned... Sigh...
Her name is Shion and she is a ghost. She only appeared in "Haruna-san 55" comic strip, but seems like she captured hearts of many fanboys. She'll be reappearing pretty soon. Her blue hair is based on Boch's Shion fanarts.
With her blue hair, she reminds me of Botan from "Yuu Yuu Hakusho". I wonder what kind of chaos she brings to Onii-chan house... Her name "Shion" is taken from one of the characters from "Memories Off". When I created her, I couldn't decide on her name. So I randomly flipped through "G's Magazine (magazine filled with Love Simulation game information)" and I stumbled across "Memories Off". I remembered I enjoyed playing this game and "Shion" sounded very cool, so I decided to use this name.
Most of my characters are named like that. "Kotone" is taken from "To Heart". "Haruna" is taken from a desktop mascot girl, "Laika" is taken from manga "Raika", "Mina" from "Soul Calibur"?, "Anya+Lisa" are named by Konstantin, Onii-chan doesn't have name, "Mulder" and "Scully" are "X-file", etc.
