"Rants" by Akira (2003-09-26)

I love "Legend of Galactic Heroes" and I read 10 volumes of original novels (+ a couple of side stories). I want to read "Arslan Senki" when I have time. Yoshiki Tanaka creates wonderful characters and stories. He knows a lot of Chinese (Japanese and European too?) histories, and I think that adds more depth to his story. Anyway, "LoGH" is one of my favorite anime series (eventhough anime quality is bad ^^;) of all time.

Lots of anime ended this week. I've checked all/most of episodes (while I work on my comic strips). This is what I think:

1. (A+) Kino no Tabi - It's my type of anime. Happy non-happy short stories.
2. (A+) Scrapped Princess - I enjoy this the most. Can't wait to see the ending. I especially love Raxephone-type fighting scene ^^;
3. (A+) Air Master - If you can pass through first few episodes, you'll get used to it (dialogs, character designs, etc). Fighting scenes are one of the best I've seen.
4. (A) Ucyuu no Stellvia - I really enjoyed its story. I think character designs are cute.
5. (A) Onegai Twins - I love "Onegai Teacher". Any question?
6. (A) Suttoko Taisen Dokkoida - Predictable, but extremely well executed anime. I enjoyed watching later episodes.
7. (A-) Ashita no Nadja - extremely typical orthodox girl anime that reminds me of "Meisaku Gekijyou" series.
8. (A-) Detective Conan - one of the most watched anime in Japan.
9. (A-) Konjikino Gash Bell - I love its passion and joke. I enjoy original manga too.
10. (B+) Matantei Loki RAGNAROK - I love Northern Mythology. I was able to sit through 13 hours of "RhineGold" opera (video).
11. (B+) D.C. - I love "Love Simulation" game anime so it gets high score.
12. (B) Kaleidostar - very orthodox sport anime.
13. (B) Kidousenshi Gundam Seed - It was a typical gundam series.
14. (B-) Get Backers - cool characters... and some good fighting scenes.
15. (B-) D.N.Angel - I enjoyed some episodes.
16. (C+) Happy Lesson Advance - It's opposite of "Sister Princess".
17. (C) Green Green - Ecchi anime. H...H...H...
18. (C-) Astro Boy - Some episodes are good, but not all. I think original "Tetuwan Atom" manga had more tragic elements to its story. I think it's totally missing it...
19. (D+) Last Exile - Hmm.... It's Gonzo... Good graphics, good setting, but story telling is poor...
20. (D) Divergenes Eve - Big breasts... I love the ED more than anime ^^;
21. (D-) Wagamama Fairy Mirumo de Pon - It's popular. Going for third season (year).
