It's 6:10 am in the morning already. I think I need to stop working on this page and sleep at least few hours before I go to work today. It's unifnished, but I'll ink the first panel when I get back from work.
Last week, I was reworking (mainly inking) on the unfinished pages of Laika story arc and they are almost done (two more pages to go). I should be able to upload completed pages next week. We have a long holiday in May called "Golden Week" in Japan. I'll be able to work on the comic strips for nine whole days (that is if I don't play any games...). Anyway, sorry for the loooooong wait. I hope you enjoyed today's comic strip. I think story will get interesting... I think.

Graah, you really need Akira-scale perseverance to keep up with this season. So many shows, and so many of them non-crap! Starting to wish that they'd have swapped some of last season's turkeys for the quality stuff showing now. Not to say they're all good, but there are at least 9 shows I'm thinking of following, and a whole bunch more that I haven't seen enough of to make a decision on. Ahh, to have these troubles every season. ^^
On with the previews:
Black Lagoon - South seas mercenaries kicking ass and taking names, hapless salaryman in tow. I think this is probably going to be the action show of the season. Animation is excellent, the characters have chemistry, and the action is delightfully over the top. Also, maybe it's just me, but Levi's quasi-Russian accented Japanese is hot as all hell. And did I mention that the opening is from I've Sound? On a scale of one to awesome, this is pretty frikken sweet.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - A cute girl anime gone horribly horribly right. This is shaping out to be a genuinely creepy horror mystery, and I've heard a lot of good things about the doujin games this is based on. The art style looks a bit too SD for my tastes, but I think it provides a delightfully perverse contrast to the violence and madness suggested so far. Also, bonus points for another I've Sound opening, they seem to be getting quite popular nowadays. If this show manages to live up to the promise of the first ep and doesn't devolve into moe harem cliches, it may well become a classic.
Nana - The Nana manga, along with the movie and the dorama based on it have generated quite a bit of buzz (not to mention piles of money for its author), so I decided to check out the anime, in spite of not being a particular fan of Ai Yazawa's art style. So far I like what I see. While I'm still not fond of the character designs, the animation itself is top-notch, and the characters are interesting and believable. Looking forward to seeing how this story of two girls who come to Tokyo seeking their fortunes develops.
xxxHolic - Clamp goes all pretty and metaphysical, making me one happy fanboy. The long-limbed noodle people character designs may be a bit odd, but the style is still very recognizably Clamp, and that's good enough for me. The animation isn't quite up to the stellar level set by this summer's movie, but it's still Production I.G, and looks quite nice. If only they didn't bring back the most annoying creature in the Clamp multiverse... At least this one can talk ^^; All in all, I'll have to see where the plot goes, but the setup is definitely intriguing.
Renkin 3kyu Magical? Pokaan - Cute but none-too-bright monster girls (vampire, werewolf, android, and witch) live together in a treehouse and have comic misadventures. Clearly oriented towards the moe fanboy demographic, with panty shots a-plenty, but it's good for what it is. Doesn't feel like an exhausted trudge from one cliche to the next, which is what a lot of recent attempts at moe shows seem to have become, and the character designs look cute and distinct. The show to watch when unable to kick your brain into gear.
The Third - A gentle yet awesome samurai girl trudges the post-apocalyptic wastes in her sentient tank, exterminating mutant monsters for cash and quoting poetry. Could be good, and I like the post-apocalyptic setting, but I'm a bit weary of getting yet another Kenshin/Vash style pacifist badass for a protagonist. Will give this another ep, but it risks getting pushed out by all the other shows.
