It is amazing that Mina can out-smart Professor Hasegawa like that. Only person who can do that was Tsunami (Even Laika was teased by Professor Hasegawa). Now Professor Hasegawa will have a difficult time with both Tsunami and Mina.
How can Mina know Professor's illegal experiments? Mina's observation is outstanding. She can deduce many facts just by looking at clues. I assume she saw test tubes, labels, etc to deduce Professor was working on modifying bacteria and viruses. Professor is working on them for good purposes, not for taking over the world.
