"Rants" by Romy
(2003-05-03)

I went to see RAHXEPHON movie with my brother today. Much to my surprise, the theater lobby was packed with people when we arrived! We purchased the pre-sold tickets already so we asked if the seats can be reserved or not. It was a small theater with only 180 seats, but we were told that it's almost full!

So we decided to see the movie in the afternoon (we arrived for the morning showing). We went to see ANIMATE (anime goods retailing shop) and just looked around. It was packed with people. Of course, it was Saturday and the start of the Golden Week (clusters of holidays in Japan).

When we got back at the theater, there weren't much people. So we thought it was going to be almost empty at first. But as the time drew near, the place started to be filled with people again! Good thing we had early entry numbers (#7&8). Much like boarding an airplane, we were called our numbers to get in.

I was a bit worried that my brother would not be able to grasp the storyline, since Rahxephon setting is so complicated, and he had never seen the entire series before. He told me later though that he followed the story without much trouble. Now he is interested in the original TV series. We both enjoyed the movie.

We talked a bit about a possibility of my brother doing the story and layout and me doing the artwork for comics on weekends. It's still a possibility that we are pondering, but we may try doing it once to see if it works. We talked about other anime/manga series and productions while eating the Kihachi icecream out in the sun, waiting for the train to get us back to Yokohama. It was really fun. :)
