"Rants" by Akira
(2002-10-10)

I got two e-mails about previous comic strip's Muy Thai's stance. I want to show one from DISCORD. Mail was really informative. I hope it's ok to share with everyone :)

muy thai 'basic stance' holds the fists slightly higher, since they use elbows, and not so much fists, when it comes to arm techniques, hands should be about eye height, and rather close to the face(stretch out thumbs, should almost touch the face), and to finish it, since the style does not use fists much, the idea of clenching them into fists is rather pointless, therefor muy thai practitioners often have open slightly cupped hhands, and it leaves a nice view through the arched fingers...ahwell, i hope you find this rambling useful.

Rambling was very useful. Thanks, discard. I learn something new everyday :)

Mina's father is an expert in every martial art (He might be a world champion). Mina learned many different styles from him. Her stance and kick are "Muy Thai", she uses "Kung Fu"/"Karate" for punches, She used "Ippon zeoi" (Jyudou or Sumou move) for the last move.
