I always wondered how bird can fly that safely. Birds are flying at quite a fast speed. If some dirt gets into their eyes, they would be in a great danger. Think about human flying an airplane without a goggle... It is very scary. I assume birds have some protection against dirts. Otherwise we will see more birds flying into buildings. Since gargoyle is monkey/human type, "Wind" didn't have any protection against dirts. Mina is very smart if she thought of her plan that deeply...
In ninja manga, the direction of wind is very important. It is stupid for a ninja to stand downwind of an opponent ninja. One of the technique "Shunka no Jyutsu (Technique of Spring Flower)" uses a wind to deliver sleeping powder to opponent. It was clever for Mina to use wind to deliver dirts against "Wind".
