"Anya" by Akira
(2010-09-09)

It's a nice feeling to be able to draw Anya again, meow. I don't know why, but I like a pose which Rumiko Takahashi's character makes when he/she is surprised.

There is one more person I need to draw in the next comic strip...

"Looking into Touhou with detail - Daiyousei and Koakuma" by Totaku
(2010-09-09)

I decided to save the hassle of talking about some extremly minor charaters by slapping them both into one section So for today, my topic is on the big fairy and the little devil. :P

Daiyousei and Koakuma

In Embodiment of Scarlet Devil during the middle of stage 2 and stage 4.... Reimu and Marisa confront a unique fairy and a devil during the stage. They had no names, no dailouge, they just fought.... and were quickly defeated.

They really don't serve a role through the story in any way. Yet the fans wanted to give these two purpose.....

So the fans gave them names. Daiyousei meaning Big Fairy, and Koakuma, meaning little demon....

Pretty much what was constructed of these charaters came from the fanon world more or less....

Daiyousei is often protrayed as the big sister fairy who tends to watch over Cirno (mainly due to thier stage two connection) Otherwise, it wouldn't be till later when ZUN would try to give them a charater, mainly describing Daiyousei to be an elder fairy.

Daiyousei would eventually return in the most recent game "The Great Fairy Wars" but even then she remain unnamed and unimportant.....

The fans gave the stage 4 boss the name Koakuma meaning little devil. Koakuma has more or less been protrayed as Patchouli's assistant and /or familar. Mostly maintaining book. Beyond that her role has not serve much else where.

Sometimes the fans like to protray her as a sucubbus. But otherwise.... not much can be explain. ZUN described Koakuma to basiclly be a demon that hide in dark areas. In this case, Patchouli's library. But otherwise as of this point. She doesn't get much more attention than that.

That's about it here. Next time we can take a look at some regions of Gensokyo that played a role in EoSD. We'll start with the Hakurei Shrine for this case...

Till next time!
