"Rants" by Romy
(2003-02-23)

I'm using tracing papers to do some of my drawings. I use tracing papers to practice realistic drawings as well as for clean-ups. But I like the feel of the paper and the lines that I draw on them, so Count Dulu (from last week's) was drawn on a piece of tracing paper. The downside is that the pencil lines easily get blurred by slightest frictions so I try not to smear the lines with my fingers while and even after I finish drawing. Also, I haven't tried it, but these papers may not be suitable for coloring. Well, I use Photoshop for coloring for most of the time, so this may not be too big a trouble.

Today's drawing is also done on a tracing paper. Another disadvantage I found was that when I tried to erase the bottom of the guy's pants, the paper got wrinkled because I got the paper caught with the eraser. Hmmm, I have to be careful not to wrinkle the paper?or I should be using thicker tracing papers.

Well, another couple with somewhat oriental-like outfits. I guess they went out for a lantern festival to celebrate whatever the occasion?
