"Laika 33" by Akira
(2006-05-31)

5/31 - I'll upload the rants first. Comic strip will be uploaded within 20 hours... I think.

6/01 - I don't think I can finish comic strip as scheduled... I'm really tired and I need to take a rest. I'll work on the comic strip later tonight. Meanwhile, I'll upload a pencil sketch of Mikuru Asahina from "Suzumiya Haruni ho Yuutsu". I'll replace the filler with the strip when I finish drawing.

6/02 - Finished drawing... Nothing much happened again because most of the page was used to describe the scenery.

Ushio to Tora

Kazuhiro Fujita's "Karakuri Circus vol.42 (read 1st episode)" ended this week at "Weekly Shounen Sunday". It's been running for nine years (Weekly Shounen Sunday is famous for long series manga like "Detective Conan vol.53 (read 1st episode)", "Inuyasha vol.45 (read 1st episode)", "Major vol.58 (read 1st episode)") and ended with a grand finale. Overall, it wasn't a bad series, but it couldn't surpass his previous masterpiece "Ushio to Tora (read 1st episode)".

I truely love "Ushio to Tora". Stories and battles leading up to the ending was really amazing, it gave me tears when I read it. Story and drawing is filled with "passion" and "strength". Every character had his/her own role and everyone was important in the story (unlike "Dragon Ball Z" where only Goku or Gohan is important -_-;). Many people might not like his drawing style, but I think it's one of the best shounen manga. The other shounen manga I love is, of course, "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure".

On the left is a picture of this week's "Weekly Shounen Sunday". Even though "Karakuri Circus" ended, nothing is said about it... Instead, front page is a picture of an idol, Satomi Ishihara ^_^;...

"MegaMari: Review" by Totaku
(2006-06-01)

Well, I'm here to anounce I'm officaly back in college starting June 5th and will be here everyday from Monday to Friday from 7 AM-5 PM possible additional time when I find time.

Anyways, as I promised, this week I'd continue with my review on Mega Mari. I just got ahold of my copy of MegaMari and found it to be quite surprising. ^__^ But at the same time some of this nice surprise can be quite shocking too epsiclally if your not use to battletoads or old school megaman.

To begin, it's like any other megaman game, you start off with fighting against 8 other enimes first (all of them being other Touhou characters) and as Marisa and Alice you run through each stage as you shoot enimes down and reach the bosses.

The first impression you will have about the game is that IT IS HARD!!! The game's difficulty is hard since they try to shove both curtainshooting and megaman action inot one game making it sometime hard to dodge enimes, but to top it off there are also plenty of cheap deaths in the game (like what megaman game doesn't have it) ranging from pits to spike that kill you instantly. Since the game follow more like Megaman 1 don't expect to slide either.

But anyways, if you can get over the difficulty of the game, you'll find the game to be very rich in graphics and the music to be vey suiting for the stage, and since the games is loaded with touhou chartacters of many types in it that is a massive plus too. ^^ Also to make things sort of easier, you can explore and find out that Megamari allows you to switch between Alice and Marisa (which can be important.) Also once you reach a boss and defeat them you can pick Marisa or ALice to have the ablity of that character (it's important you learn what the skills do for either Marisa and Alice to figure out what is best for them.)

Beyond that, what I can say is Mega Mari is one of those games for the Megaman fan who is looking for a good old nastalgic fun with a little twist to it or it can be for the Touhou fan who loves to see thier characters done form another group. Over all it not for everyone, but if your into alot of diffculty you find Megamari fun.

Rating: 8/10

Until next time...
Ja Matta ^_^
