"Laika 59" by Akira
(2006-10-25)

It'll be uploaded within 12 hours.

  1. Busou Renkin #4 (A)
Papiyon! Papiyon!! Papiyon!!! He's my favorite character from "Busou Renkin" manga and he finally "fully" appeared in this episode! Although he's still a chrysalis. He still need time to mature into a beautiful hentai butterfly. My second favorite character is "Captain Bravo". He's very interesting character too. Ahh... I can't wait.

  2. Hataraki Man #2 (A-)
About a photographer of tabloid magazine. Interesting story.

  3. Hataraki Man #3 (A-)
I don't think I'll be able to work on publishing company like this anime... I'm sure I'll die within a year.

  4. Asatteno Houkou #4 (A-)
First problem was resolved in this episode. Manga is currently published upto third volumes. It seems like story is rather complex.

  5. 009-1 #3 (B+)
Interesting story telling. I enjoyed the trick. It was interesting.

  6. Sumomomo momomo #4 (B+)
Iroha! Iroha!! Iroha!!! Iroha and Sanae are the best characters from the manga. I enjoyed Koushi's male nudity. You don't see that often in anime except for "Inukami". Isn't it right, Onii-chan?

  7. Negima!? #4 (B-)
Story, setting, characters are very different from manga. I don't like the change too much, since manga setting is very well though (especially current Mahora festival arc), but anime setting is too rushed... Although since they are different, I'm not too bored watching it.

  8. Sumomomo momomo #3 (B-)
I was only able to see the second half... The bear kind of remind me of villains from "Fist of North Star". ^_^; Next challenger is Iroha. I can't wait, Onii-chan.

  9. Kujibiki Unbalance #3 (C+)
    Very slapstick... Hmmm... -_-;

  10. Ginga Tetsudou Monogatari #3 (C+)
Nothing bad about it..., but nothing good about it either ^_^; Story is very predictable.

  11. Souten no Ken #3 (C)
I enjoyed the over-actioned "You are already dead" scene ^_^; I sometimes wonder if they are doing this as a joke.

  12. Lovely Idol #3 (D+)
First concert by six members. That's about it.

  13. Super Robot Taisen OG #4 (D+)
Very typical episode of robot anime... Fighting flow of fight sequences is really bad. I can't believe they are doing a battle...

  14. Giniro no Olynssis #2 (D+)
Main hero's super-robot appeared, but I don't like the design too much ^_^; Those wheeled vehicles remind me of 80's American's animation "Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors" which I watched when I was a kid.

"Saimoe, Massaki and Chikako Tanaka" by Totaku
(2006-10-26)

Well Saimoe, just continued to become very intense over the last seven day and there was lots of heated controversy and excitment alike.

We basiclly found out the Suiseiseki defeated the expected Moe winner Yuki during quarter finals and Shana took out Eri. Chikako took out Rin and Fate beat Eruruu.

Following that the Semi finals took place. Suiseiseki remained strong and beat Shana and on the other end Fate managed to out manuver Chikako....

And so now we are down to one final match....that will begin tomrrow. Suiseiseki vs. Fate. Anything can happen and anything will. The battle is bound to get intense as the Saimoe champion will be soon to be announce stay tuned..... And be sure the check the forum if you feel like you want to discuss this. ^^

On another part of the news, on Sunday, I got to see an interesting exhibit come to the university for 3 days. The exhibit were of there two very popular Japanese artist, Masaaki Tanaka and Chikako Tanaka. Both of these artist were very amazing to my eyes as thier art that they displayed was a sight to behold. Massaki does woodblock and silkscreen prints that usually certers around places, festivals and events, while Chikako does hand drawn work that has a sureal atmosphere too them. Since the display was only up till Wensday, I couldn't be able to supply anything since I didn't get a camera, but the website I've presented you should actually cover most of ther work they shown (plus more).

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this, until next time
Ja matta. ^_^

"Anime Reviews" by Akira
(2006-10-29)

Currently working very hard to finish 12 pages rough drafts for pOnju Anthology. I'm very sure this week's comic strip will be late.

  1. Kekkaishi #2 (A-)
"Kekkaishi" is a very solid manga. Character design is solid and above average. There will be a lot of characters appearing later in the episode, but all characters are all cool and "distinguishable". Story telling is also solid and above average. I'm impressed with the fact that when someone is dead, he/she is out from the story forever (no resurrection like DBZ). Drawing is very solid and above average. I think author is very skilled and talented, but manga is missing 'something' which doesn't force me to collect all 14 volumes of manga (I only bought first volumes). Although, it's one of my favorite mangas from "Weekly Sunday" magazine and I think anime is doing very well. I'm enjoying it very much.

  2. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge #4 (B+)
School festival, horror house, cosplay, and money. There is every ormula to create a story in this episode.

  3. 009-1 #4 (B+)
Three spies from west and three spies from east are invited to ancient castle. Ending/reasoning was rather predictable, but wasn't too bad...

  4. Ghost Hunt #4 (B)
Second story arc started. It's not too bad..., but it's not my taste... Hmmm...

  5. Galaxy Angel Rune #4 (B-)
Very solid show (both quality and story). I liked black strange humored jokes from previous series, but this series doesn't have any... Sigh...

  6. Souten no Ken #4 (B-)
I couldn't predict about heroine and younger brother. That was a nice surprise. It makes story little more interesting. Now the story will be moved to Shanghai.

  7. Gift #3 (C+)
Episode of a main female (pink haired) character. It seems like the main male character's mind is already set.

  8. Otomeha Bokuni Koishiteru #3 (C)
Takako is one of my favorite character from the game (in Takako route). She's really a nice good Tsundere. The "OtoBoku" game is separated in several chapters like anime format. Today's episode was the climax of the first game episode.

  9. Shounen Onmyouji #3 (C-)
New strong enemy appeared... Very generic shounen super power based anime. Looking at the ending, a lot of characters will be appearing later.

  10. Lovely Idol #4 (D+)
About voice acting episode, but very generic story...

  11. Yoake Maeyori Ruriirona #3 (D+)
This episode of the anime became very famous among Japanese otaku by the "spheric cabbage". I mean... the quality of this anime is deteriorating very very fast. Those people who loved "Musashi Gun-do" is praising this episode very much. Even in Akihabara, some shop is making fun of animation quality, by showing the low and high contrast/quality of screen shots of Feena and the cabbage (correct comparison is here).

  12. Giniro no Olynssis #3 (D+)
Hmm... it's becoming like a typical robot anime... Argh....
