| "Turkey day (AKA Thanksgiving)...let's talk nextgen Consoles" by Totaku (2006-11-23) |
Since today is turkey day, it's clear that I am right now taking a brake, enjoying my time at home and family. and being thankful for the many things. This will probably be the one day where I'll finally get to sit down and play Final Fantasy XII after delaying it for several weeks after buying it.
But I would like to say that my vacation will be short since I will be returing here Friday and the weekend to open up the art lab for student who despratly need to get thier work ready for the Concentration entrance ect. But of course, it's all for the better good since I have my project as well.
I donno what to discuss today for Thanskgiving, but I guess I can say that probably by now all the new consles are out. By now everyone knows about Xbox 360. As it has been out for roughly a year now. It's already got a jump start, but the big question is how will it comepte to the PS3 and Wii.
With the release of these two consoles, we have now officaly begun the next Gen console war. We will begin the see the older gen games slowly disappearing over next year before we see them starting to pop up more of these new gen models.
So what can I say about it? Well this time, I beleive this new Gen battle will be the most interesting as of yet. Because we are dealing with alot of interesting things in this battle.
First off we know the Xbox 360. A good console for it's muti player and net support. Plus being a Micro$oft product also give it an advantage somewhere. Contains many titles from popular genere (Still can't forgive that DOA moved to XBox though) and it's mainly geared to the older audiance to begin with. But of course, 360 does shows it's promisies with all of it's amazing feature and all. That's proably it's strong point after all. ^^; If I remember righ the retail price is $499.
However, with the new consoles out thing will be intense starting with the Wii. The Wii has been shown at E3 and has made quite an impact with it's most innovative invention, the controler. The Wii's strong point is indeed the new controller which it motion and tilting sensors to tel it the type of actions you want it to do. I got an interesting idea this could become a good way to work out your arms. XD Of course there's also it's many many amzing mascots too. Mario, Link. Samus, ect. They will definetely play a key role. Plus consideiring that Ledgend of Zelda: The Twighlight Princess was one of it's first release title make it a big boost. Backup compatablity too all Nintendo titles from NES to N64 doesn't hurt eitherAlso the Wii is the cheapest of the 3 systems as well around $299.
PS3 on the otherhand will probably be one of the more interesting systems we will see because of it's massive investment in it's new technology. As you know they are using the new "Blue Ray Technology" which is the latest of disc technology which uses a smal disk simalar to like Nintendo's Game cube's disc, but I'm not exactly sure on the details about the technology so I can't give out much more. ^^;; Plus being that PS3 has been big for both genration, it's got a goood libray of support behind it. Of course, now comes the tricky stuff, as you know with it's new technology, it means it'll be more expernsive. Games will range from 50-80 dollars. So planning will probably be required before invensting into games. However, it's clear the system has an internal memory bank which servers as your memory card as well. ^^ Finally let's not forget the PS3 is the most expernsive of the three if you by the full pack which retails for $599 US dollars. :P
And don't forget, the game Genji take place in historical Japan where you battle GIANT ENEMY CRABS and ATTACK THE WEAK POINT for MASSIVE DAMAGE!!!
that is all for today. ^^;;;; Till next time.
Ja Matta. ^_^
