"Rants" by Akira
(2001-11-13)

Translation of what Haruna is saying. "Annshinn shitekudasai (Please feel safe)", "Watashiga mamotte sashiagemasu (I'll protect you)", and "Laika-san kakugo! (Prepare, Laika-san)". Haruna is using a Naginata which is like a spear, but blade is more like a sword. I wonder how she was able to bring that kind of large weapon to America... Usually a bar of naginata is made out of wood. How come Laika couldn't cut throught it? That is a question for most Kung Fu movies like "Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon" and "Iron Monkey". Usually swords can't can't cut through bamboo or wood bars. Why? Why?
